People whispering
Whispering at the wrong times
In the wrong place
At a young age we are taught
That whispering is bad
A way of keeping secrets
Making people feel left out
Later on in life we discover secrets aren't all bad
Its like having something private just for you
But sometimes things we think shouldn't be said become secrets
Sometimes its a way of protecting those around you from whats inside
Something you feel is eating you alive
And this is when secrets become dangerous
When what we are truly feeling becomes a secret
A secret we have to hide from the world
Because our society makes some things OK to talk about and others not
So when we have to keep secrets from ourselves
And from the world
That's when we start to self destruct
Every little whisper
Every little word
Has become something you have to analyze
To make sure the person talking to you doesn't hate you
Because if they did hate you, you would hate yourself even more
And the monster inside will get bigger and stronger
Pretty soon you won't be that kid on the playground whispering to her friend
You will be a lost teenager in a world that makes you feel like you don't belong anymore
Whispering is a way of keeping secrets
Sometimes secrets are dangerous
Sometimes secrets hurt
Sometimes secrets kill
